Sarah St Vincent Welch #127 Circle dance

feet lift faster
lighter than they are
than anything possible
heart beat breath spin
around together around
this dance we've joined
began in a dream
open faces facing in
to all
we are a circle

  1. This is beautiful - leaves me in a spin!

  2. stunning together and separately - the energy of spinning dissolves the edges, borders in a soft collision of multiple orbits

  3. Not having done anything like this since primary school (being of the punk generation, shaking and pogoing), I am constantly amazed at the energy in the simple dances, circles, hands linked facing in to each other, how all the dancer's weights work together, leaning back, the propulsion of each others' bodies, the cooperation and intuition. (The joy). I have had a couple (long ago) of dreams that involved dancing with big groups of people - very memorable dreams - outside - it all feels like a deep cultural ancestral memory, and Susan's trata poem informed me more. Glad you enjoyed it!

  5. The dizziness of a fast life lived well.

  6. The concept of 'giving weight' to the partner/s in dance fascinates me, doesn't seem to matter if the weights are very different, as a metaphor it moves me greatly. How we support each other. How we can make each other lighter, stronger, how we adjust to/for each other.
