John Bennett #18 Supermoon and counting

Waiting for the Supermoon . . .

Sputnik was a cumulation of maths (trigonometry and functions),
Robert Boyle’s scientific methodology, material sciences, physics
(aerodynamics and thermodynamics), lens development,
mechanical engineering, chemistry, astronomy, printing,
the radio and much more . . . the state, taxes, armies, politics.

We can count the cost. Footprints that will last forever
surrounding 96 bags of urine, faeces and vomit, invisible,
even this close. Instead, we watch flat-faced Selene rising
over the Pacific, a slip of a woman, wafer thin, but with
power over sleep and time (and more recently the tides).
