Rob Schackne #169 - Tristesa

Tristesa

God damn I love her
cold, cold, the long story
it happens everywhere
so high and lonesome
everywhere is the blues
she packs her home
she leaves her heart up
the clock's ticking stiff
the silence is greedy
everything looks like pity
next time she goes away
so lonesome and high
it happens every day
the chilly nights alone
it's one pure refrain

everywhere it's keening
a tired night gets starry
cold, still, the short blanket
long story won't be told.

  1. The rhythm works for me
Am hearing a Kevin Ayers blues rather than the Grateful Dead!
