Susan Hawthorne #325 Icon by Remedios Varo, 1945

in the Museo de Arte
Latinamericano de Buenos Aires
an unexpected thrill
Remedios Varo silently waiting
door wings open three mother-
of-pearl moons in the sky
no birds in the garret this time
the light-filled tower has grown
giant gold leaf wings
and taken flight
