Chrysogonus #92 - no note left

no note left
for Pek Hin

it was the hour of the rat
robbed my uncle

he left
with no farewell

nothing written
a kick and a jump

and fading to silence
shadows of the unknown

left behind in his room
the body from the rope

the rope from the beam
the smile beyond breath

and in the morning
my aunt's scream

dividing time
from air

tanpa surat
untuk Pek Hin

butanya pagi
merenggut simpekku

ia pergi
tanpa kabar

hanya satu tendangan
hanya satu lompatan

ia memudar dalam senyap
dalam kelam bayangan

yang tertinggal di kamar
raga tergantung pada tali

tali tergantung pada balok atap
senyum lega selepas akhir nafas

bersama matahari, terbit
jeritan siwakku

memisah hari
dari udara

  1. This is a very sad piece, beautifully understated which makes it even more moving. The poetry in it is breathtaking. Thank you.
