Robert Verdon, #94, Blue

horizon
memory of a
banjo in the
forgotten hollow
an eye blinks
around a bright pebble
a mind embraces galaxies
the pinned butterfly suddenly knows
how to fly

the sun burns out the retina
the moon is vanquished by a hairshirt of cloud
the sold soul is trapped between death and ennui
blue
