Sarah St Vincent Welch #84 tree walk

a place suspends
time, sometimes,
the tree walk is
one,  remnant of
forest ways, now
a path on an edge
of grey backfences
waves of power lines

tree walk all itself
clay dust kicked up
a tunnel of thought
aroma of fox of possum
flicker of google earth

walking dogs wend
nose to wisp of grass,
sex scent, blood and shit,
a brown snake shifts,
coils, falcon rising,
bay of watchdog

I always walk
the tree walk
will walk it forever
camera outstretched
dream it as,
it continues
step, step and step

  1. fantastic, transforming the suburban idyll!

  2. Thank you! I love this place so much. And I think lambent was a word i was looking for, thanks Efi and Anna.
