Mikaela Castledine #103 Precipitate

I’ve turned out my pockets

coz they've got full of rain

and we’re drying inside today

along the railings

in the updraft of the mezzanine

I wanted to wear my favourite outfit

but the bound seam of the hems and the pockets

are still damp

and even though I’ve nothing to put in them

except my waterproof hands

there’s sure to be some old tale

that would have me catch pneumonia

from a pocketful of rain
