Sarah St Vincent Welch #113 Poem for KonMari 1

KonMari,
of The Life Changing
Art of Tidying,
all things bring me joy
in the spark of memory
old objects, their possibility,
ember and ash shadows
dark inanimate selves,
I ken, a story in every thing

what will you do with me,
KonMari?
my inspiration includes detritus,
the lost, forgotten and incomplete;
maybe my spirit is a gleaner of
another time, sentimental
about bacteria (its artful patterns)
shit (holy fertile remnant of life)
trash (repurposed reincarnating)

my ownership pattern
requires me, to write a tome,
thanking each object I throw
away, a formal letter, an epic
poem, dreaming over
what they all can mean

the skip, the bin, the trailer
filled with rustling sparks
wildfire of joys, raucous
stories, a library of decay
broken sorrow and mistakes
and hopes

all about to go

KonMari is Marie Kondo, the author of the bestselling and beloved The Life Changing Art of Tidying

  2. That is so beautiful! 'my spirit is a gleaner of another time' in fact the whole second stanza I just love
