Susan Hawthorne #147 professions for women

in the ancient world of Greece
there were professions for women
the magic of plants and animals
turned to cloth and clothing

they were spinners and wool carders
called spinning women    spinsters
weavers of the world   websters
they made carpets and goods

from wool and flax   of the websters
Athena in later form as Minerva
had a wild envy of the weavings
of Arachne    her future as a spider
