a
woofy Sunday
for Alan Jefferies and Carol Archer
with
so-much-for-the-Sabbath shouting
one
curse to chase another
and
louder with machinery
they're
reinventing the house over there
and
we ourselves discover physics
with
the council clean-up coming
and
having to wrestle
the
ancient piano
out
the dairy door
still
there are days you wish
you
had heaven for a PA
to
interrupt the karaoke
then
you could command
these
over-the-road primary school boys
with
'what's that ruckus
up
the valley?' and casting
shamed
faces to the sky
the
chastened would obey
