coldest day
whose smoke am I smelling?
the warm are all indoors and tending
but the sun will soon be up
walking into the coldest day
testing how many socks
will go into these sandals
(hear Scandinavian friends all laugh)
see bandicoot has been
dead still, no wallaby shows
not even a frost
but ducks have frozen to the sky
paddock a bellow for far
so many birds
no one conducting
frogs resume
the percussion section
and techno tinnitus in scone
raven does its
ha ha haaaaar
We were lucky enough to be rewarded by the cold with a morning of settled snow.
