Mikaela Castledine #198 Until We Don't

For the first time
in let’s say 16 days
there is a clocktick stillness in my house
everything is sitting where it has been put

The only movement
the butterfly effect of micro thermals
rising from my small electric heater
to briefly inflate the diaphragms
of all the washed sheets
of recently departed visitors
where they hang on the balcony rail

It's only breathing
we all do it until we don’t
and nothing remains unmoved
