Nathanael O'Reilly #24 The Plains

The Plains

in Happy, Texas
the town without a frown

grain silos on the horizon
rise above the plains

like skyscrapers
casting shadows

over fields of grain

  1. Mate, good poem, " a town without a frown" - I love it. As I should be immediately reminded to take extra care in any town called Happy. That we all might fare just a little bit better in towns called Misery, Hopeless, Woeful or Snake Gully, where an audacious hope can still be found.
