Hey, Good poem. Sums it up pretty much for me, except that I've lived for many years in China - only I'm still not sure what feels worse, looking at it from the inside or looking at it from the outside. They keep on saying that it's the only game in town, but Lord knows I've been lied to before. On a greater note, I enjoy reading you here. Hope that your life in Texas (apart from Austin music and chili) has its delights.
ReplyDeleteThanks, Rob. I've been enjoying your work too. I do have a great life in Texas, and can't complain, but it's not where I'd rather be. However, when one has an American partner and child, and a career with little mobility, compromises must be made.
ReplyDeletegood one! and ask the Native American people how they feel when the "nation" celebrates Independance Day ....!
ReplyDeleteditto to everything :)
