Rob Harle #26 Trapped In The Matrix

Rob Harle #26 Trapped In The Matrix

the Madonna
mater of our world
trapped in the Matrix
trying to materialize
to emerge fully;
our collective ignorance
our crass consumerism
blocks her manifestation;
without her presence
the future is bleak.

the irony of a swooping magpie
tearing cheap headphones off his head
ipod covered in dripping blood;
unaware of the birds
strutting arrogantly through their gardens
listening to neuron mutating doooofffff;
the magpies are not happy,
the Madonna is not happy.

our mother cares desperately,
many of her offspring have closed the doors
preferring to “text” banalities,
preferring the dumbing gibberish of television
than listening to bird song,
perhaps the last bird song?
try to rest in peace Rachel Carson
as we approach your Silent Spring!

  1. Indeed. I really liked the stanza shifts of subjecr. Vibrates, like the image.
