Rosemary Nissen-Wade #31 (extra). Self-indulgence

Self-indulgence

I went away today
to visit poetry
in a place where
I used to play,
and might again
some day. I dawdled
through the streets
enjoying the familiar,
noting the new and strange.
At first I felt like a voyeur,
but then the delight
of reconnection
grabbed me and the joy
of hearing that language,
breathing that air…. I
went away today
into poetry
(at Project 366)
and lingered there
for several hours. What
luxury! It was something
I did just for me.

  2. I feel there's more we need to be doing to involve the people who would benefit from it in the idea of poetry as community

    1. The thing is, I have had such a busy July that I didn't do much lurking for a while, and when I got the chance I gave myself a treat, reading and reading and reading to catch up with the treasures here.

    1. Thanks, Rob. I do keep an eye on the Project and have been loving what people are doing – and particularly thrilled to see your lovely contributions, since it was my idea to include you. :)
