Susan Hawthorne #195 desert treasure

fly over the desert
you see the circles
and the tracks

listen to the howl
of dingo wind
the call of curlews

in the dust you find
sparkling treasures
shining like starlight

waters cool the skin
feed your stomach
a track to follow home

  1. I love your desert. I love the poem. Brought me back to 1974. I was 3 days hitching across the Nullabor. Night was very exciting too.

  2. I've travelled a lot in the desert for weeks at a time just absorbing the elements. Yesterday, I saw the movie Goldstone and the landscapes were wonderful. It brought back all my desert trips in a great memory rush.
