his mission a secret,
stealthily he enters the chamber
carefully avoiding the abyss
a brutal pit for the unwary
descending to the darkest repressions.
the rust of time ever present,
deserted since the soldiers came
the ladder to the upper chamber
precarious beside the abyss
may have saved them from another chamber?
