a windy full moon waking night

who's walking in the wall this night?

wind in the bones

a moonwhiff through

questions all mindful

out from under covers see

a first lit stillness of the day

and sun among remembering

the road as it runs past, cows stood

then valley's all crossings

and crossings out

in air and beneath

and most unseen

the leaning of trees as if after a party

dawn showing worse for wear

ducks are take off

there's a graze of kangaroo

pause for fence and then under, away

the moon's all morning setting

no breeze will blow it off
