James Walton #40 Beggar's Gift




I like to hold the dawn
gripping on to the canvas
awash in astonishment
as the first arrival

from each new world
a fresh minted token
dropping from an unearthly locket
slots into in my heart

where a soaring dolphin
is calling heads or tails
