phials that boded substance
defy an image in ultra sound
so fierce broke his nose falling
backwards then shunted
forwards to his knees
clutching the display portmanteau
such exotic inhalations
when perfume was exhumed
all breath became ash
in final moments when Caesar’s coins
fell shredded as Persian roses
his customers lost at home
or running for the mirage harbour
where all payment became due
