Sarah Rice #10 'Goanna'

Goanna leaf
you’ve turned
            skeleton
on the tarmac

Volcanic teeth
of winter
            wear
you to the bone

Can you claw
            your way
                        through
to Spring?

  1. The poem effectively reflects the tough going of winter in this region and the question of survival. Just how I feel at them moment :) Great image - the leaf looks almost molten.

    the wind will take it
    and the adventures will continue
