it is my first activist moment
a rotten ad for cigarettes
from Adam's rib to women's lib
Bradfield NOT MILD
goes the jingle
in our group we hear
there are guerrilla graffitists
out and about spraying
BUT SEXIST

and so we decide to join
this guerrilla graffiti army
my on my motorbike
and a car full of women
spray cans to the ready

we have a list of sites
in this suburb and that
the first two we visit
are already sprayed
the third is our chance
out come the cans
two hands write BUT SEXIST
one is on lookout
we scoot back to our transport
drive a few streets away
pull up and jump about
with great joy and fervour

in the coming weeks
each time I pass that ad
for that cigarette and see
the hand of graffiti
I smile with satisfaction
at a task well done
there is victory when
Bradfield pulls the cigarette
off the market
