Efi Hatzimanolis #51 Domestic Order

Everything that cuts, scrapes, grates, pierces, peels and sharpens,
a tragedy of can openers, skewers, knives, graters, a mandolin
jumbled together in the second drawer, the filling and the flavour.
Above it, the top drawer drama of solid cutlery brought home from the UK.
Beneath it, all the long handled things of wood, stainless steel, silicon,
bamboo and the slapstick chaos of plastics, the circus clowns of cooking.
At the bottom, the very tidy bottom, the serenity of tea towels,
calmly collecting and settling into the sedimentary layer
of the archetypal kitchen in my New World Domestic Order.
