Yesterday

I accepted friend requests

from two people barely known

one from an artist of a few weeks  acquaintance

whose work I sat beside

while digging my toes into warm sand

one a poet never met

but whose words have been popping around

for quick visits

to borrow sugar or deliver cake

this is after all the point of it

connecting electrically

planning friendships for the future

calling them early

trusting in art and poetry to tie us together
