Robert Verdon, #75, mountain climbing near Acton

today we walked again
in the Botanic Gardens
searching for my father’s ghost

along the walkways
flying through the native trees
ferns fountaining below like green clouds

we begin to find the rest of our lives

  1. Very moving. I love this place so much. Ferns fountaining is lovely.

  2. Thanks Sarah. I still worry about the last line, though, maybe sounds too pedestrian?

  3. Haven't visited the one in Sydney for years.

  4. I meant the father thing, the memory of walking in the gardens with the father. I think the last line is more momentous than pedestrian, maybe could be more pedestrian!
