Anna Couani #96 for SH and KK

we spent the hour that we gained
when daylight saving was reversed
looking at the sunset
and at the wispy clouds
the tiny plane passing
soundlessly
because it was so far away
the sun setting
the clouds remaining white
not turning pink
the sun below the horizon
still golden
the still glassy water
the little catamaran coming home
the leaves looking inky black
the cranes in the distance
echoed by the masts of ships
in the middle distance
marvelling at the way the big launches
were reversing
into their parking spaces
after a day of recreation
it was the weekend
and at the way dinner time
has become earlier
but now I find
the night has become longer
and everything is now

more familiar
