Melinda Smith #17 Darkling with Temazepam

Image from the Nightingale Public Advocacy Collective

Darkling with Temazepam
(erasure poem made from Keats’ ‘Ode to a Nightingale’)

I             drink and leave                ,
fade      the forest
and
the fever
Here
shakes a              sad, last
spectre ;
full of sorrow
eyes
beyond
Darkling
I have been
Call’d
into the air         breath
seems   rich
the midnight
art
an ecstasy
ears
become.
hungry                tread     down
that music          sleep
