The Port Macquarie News and Hastings River Advocate Sat 22 April 1899 p5, in the SYDNEY column

Sergeant Major Daunt,
of the Australian horse,
blew his brains out yesterday afternoon,
at the rear of Parliament House.

The Maitland Daily Mercury Friday 22 April 1904, p3, also in the SYDNEY column

The body of Henry Baker,
cordial maker,
was found in his employer's stable this morning
suspended by the neck from a rafter.
Deceased had used a halter to end his life.

A middle-aged woman, named Mildred Gleeson,
suicided at Guildford Police Court (West Australia)
while awaiting trial for bigamy,
by taking poison.
A loaded revolver was also found in her pocket.
