Mikaela Castledine #108 A Judgement of Clouds

When it's dark enough
that the colour has gone
out of your eyes
still the quarter moon shining
gives at least
the impression
of a deep falling blue
against which you can see
that night clouds
are still there in the foreground
just casually drifting about

And you notice as if for the first time
that like so many things
they are not gone when you can't see them
like gods or great dead uncles
they can watch unnoticed
over all your foolish manoeuvres
and you feel yourself falter
self conscious
at the vapourous judgement of clouds
