Red Cone(LF)#194- through the glass
through the glass
silence then squalls
shadows of birds
saltbush made wall
tree tops quiver
stillness for seconds
then nature unleashes
her ferocious features
the callitris pine sparkles
tinsel like specks
red blue orange yellow
I must explore
when the squall passes
I will move from the warmth
this side of the glass
the clouds have turned purple
like the lavender bush
now the cloud has turned grey
the sparkles have gone
the squall has returned
with the sound of the jet
now hail flings itself down
the covered the ground
trees stand firm but are tossed around
hail comes in at an angle
under the verandah
the roar of the wind
and the sound of thunder
my coffee is cold
the lavender is rolled
the sun is out and
the callitris pine twinkles
blue sky is seen
a fluffy white cloud
moving this way
not stillness or silence yet
but a pause to reflect
the wind and the rain eased off
I search the callitris pine for the coloured tinsel specks
but like the end of the rainbow there was no sparkle yet
