Kerri Shying R # 90 Soft Frogs

Soft Frogs

frogs can be so loud
 when still invisible

standing by the car
near deafening their calling
in the darkness

the tarmac slidey  in
the oil the drip
of  Unanderra undercarriage
held me
stopped

and what I think the morning
in this suburb
will bring

is my
Jericho
with all the pottery shards

 little boomers
cantors chanting
singings blocked
in volume

daylight
not a frog for miles

one hand on the car  door
outside a damn Thai restaurant

 my walls shook
hard

fell down

    1. Efi, I left today, I was at the Nan Tien, which is my home temple, for the tea retreat. I started this the night before - I always assume the worst before a retreat.

    2. Oh wow, I'm often there on a Sunday. I almost went today for a pot of my usual, their lotus tea. But decided to stay home and catch up on poetry writing. I hope the retreat was good for you. I really like the head nun - she's a great meditation guide.
