Susan Hawthorne #269 sky spindle

a spindle in the sky
turns and turns
with stars at each end

as the spindle turns
earth turns too
a giant cobweb

threading space
fragile as spider web
an incandescent trill

  1. Great Susan! I love how spindle and sky sound together, too.

  2. Yes! I like the idea of the earth being a cobweb.
It is such a fragile thing in this poem.
