Two still whales
side by side
laid out on a white beach.
People linger
by their soundless bodies.
The flyover shot
quietly raises the scene into my head -
this is how I dare not leave my dead.
Reverence, sacred acknowledgment of the sameness of beings is inherent in this beautiful work, Efi. I love this. I saw that picture on FB, too. And it IS our family we're looking at, isn't it? Bellies full of plastic, no more swimming in this world. The world outcast from paradise. Never again to know the perfection of how our two bodies swam.
