Mikaela Castledine #115 Deliquescent

Writing is always
so much easier in water
being hydrous itself
poetry of all the phases
is more substantial than gas
more fluid than solids

Swimming or in a leisurely bath
words swirl out like stonethrown circles
the concentrations diffusing
osmotically through our membranes

And in the shower
where physics hauls whole reservoirs
above our heads
to stream down tactile on our skin
pores warmed and receiving
naked with nothing
washed speckless

Poems we drink them void them
float ourselves cool ourselves
decontaminate ourselves in them
