Kerri Shying R# 10 The Dressing Room of Bad Intentions

The Dressing Room of Bad Intentions

Smells like lust and Vegemite on toast
with too much butter
so thick you’d think it’s cheese

the cave of bad intention where the quick things prance and preen
fitting wheels to hatred
dressing it in pearls
jars shined up in rows of random distribution
an impulse unresisted
virginity of children
lying by omission
all the deeds undone
and done

it’s never good news when the phone rings at 5 in the morning
the photos taken after
weeping or funerals
doesn’t matter what they think if they can’t prove it

The dressing room of bad intentions
is extra dimensional; make haste
make haste

all things buried in the earth are born in the air
that’s half the fun
take your breath
and step out on the town

  2. Yikes. So good. Sharp. I feel the loss, like stepping into a film or a dream.
