Michele Elliot #7 : collective anxiety (vii)



Sydney is much more prolateriat, much more socialist.
Melbourne had the goldfields and all that but they reckon the wealth is moving up here now.

  2. This for some reason reminds me of catching the Sydney train (to Canberra) in Melbourne a year or so ago. In all the magnificence of Southern Cross station there was no Sydney train. I had to ask one of the staff and it turned out that the Sydney train was outside the wonderful new roof and out in the weather, way up the back.

    1. great story Rob, thanks. Having lived in both cities and feeling allegiance to both, I'm curious about the perceived rivalry. Nice image of the train out there at Southern Cross. I've never caught the train between the two.
