Kristen de Kline #124 Medley

I don't know where I'm going
I take a cab to the airport
it's a dirty world
check into a hotel, they're always nasty
cheap,  cough up
a mouthful of blood
fall out of love
watch four corners
blow
out
colder winds

he turns on the television
whiter noise   no more words
lost for words or did words lose you?
he cranks the volume higher
silver linings   flashes of blue down the Monash
everybody knows the dice are
loaded   everybody knows the fight was
fixed   everybody leans
on someone else

I can hear freight trains darkness a heart
beating   pin dropping
he cranks the volume higher, again
headlights veer down the driveway
I open the blinds, Roy Orbison's parked out the front
sitting there in a pick-up truck
singing about electric dumplings
marble earrings
red bell peppers

I don't know where I'm going
I can hear darkness, taste blood
I fell out of love     again
whiter noise oncoming headlights
words and winds
where are they running to
what are they running from

  1. Dear Kristen, we crank the volume higher
and we listen to the flash of darkness
taste blood the fight was fixed
