Kristen de Kline #132 anymore

anymore
I just don't
give a fuck
last night
three friends
in a bar-room
coffee
cigarettes
and crazy people
putting everyone else down
talking about dead friends,
trashy
wakes,
irreverence
a fascist who ruined the book club
frank and full disclosures
chilled lagers
the bloody plebiscite
spiced up beer nuts
two degrees of separation
order me another sambuca
and espresso
I just
don't
care
anymore

  1. Fantastic! What a beautiful and raw poem has been created out of a night in the gutter xx

    1. Thanks so much Claine! A night in the gutter indeed - but as Oscar Wilde said, some of us are looking at the stars :)

  2. Don't knock the gutter. I've done some of my best thinking there.

    1. Yes indeed Rob - in fact the gutter (the key equaliser) is really at the heart of lawless community & belonging. 'What's more, I've sometimes enjoyed kipping there too! And, yes, a fab site to sit, ponder, reflect. Definitely in praise of the gutter.
