Moyra Donaldson - Forest of Mullein #4

Forest of Mullein
It started with one,
blown in on a breeze
or carried by a bird.

Now our stone garden
is colonised
by crowds of them,
putting down roots
through pebbles
and membrane –
beautiful, welcome.

  1. how lucky we are to be colonised like this - I identify with your pleasure completely, Moyra. I've been blessed with dandelions and thistles and now I can have warm salads of weeds any time I like.
