Chrysogonus #17 - Arriving in Bergen

Arriving in Bergen

only a small backpack
hanging on the shoulder
my only company
after the bus left
and I stood inside
the circle of mountain
too busy making love
with the ocean below

the first yawn of the sun
his eyes had just opened
to the shriek of seagulls
aiming for crumbs on earth

the treat my heart longed for

but no cafe had been opened yet

  1. yr last line suggests, Chrys, that cafes have not yet been built in Bergen... from experience I can confirm this is not the case ... thankfully

  2. little backpack
    on shoulder
    for companionship
    after the bus

    I stood inside
    the circle of mountains
    the sea was their company

    first stretch of the sun
    showed the seagulls crumb hunting

a hint I would have taken
but no cafe had opened yet
