Jeffree Skewes # 8 Underneath

Light finds its way
beneath waves
deep into crevices
unlit cracks
under realised underneath
illuminating opalescent shells
on ocean floors
ancient tales
whilst detecting curious currents
emanating from above

unperturbed by the familiar questions
stained on traveler's lips
too far from home
seeking direction and safe landing
with answers so indirect that
refraction and
be the only means
a language so foreign
it must be sung backwards

  1. Jeffree, Jeffree this went for me. The entire parcel of poem and light just sound.

  2. A scuba diver for many many years, I would sometimes have such thoughts underwater. It rings very true to me. I like this poem very much.
