littera scripta manet
there is no page too precious to write on
that's the point of paper
why was a tree else laid down like this?
everything said is from never before
the world has craned its neck this far
but you know words and their way
some are staring fixed in the eye
some will freeze the heart
and words are the only way to go on
when wordlessness has failed
there is no page too precious to write on
what's said is all to air and gone
the lungs and the blood were pulse of it
but now those atoms are a sky
or the sea runs whispering away
there is no page too precious to write on
even under eternity's eye
the written word remains
love "the only way to go on/when wordlessness has failed..."
