Rob Schackne #57 - The Word Is Moist

Only the other day I read that according to linguists this word is regarded by a majority of Native English Speakers with a very high degree of revulsion. It seems that visceral-wise it is nearly off the scales. For the record, I must say the word suits me just fine. Chroist.

The Word Is Moist

A big moist kiss
a moist camp ground
in a big moist forest
like a moist honey cake
so fine and swollen
when you come with me
after we moistly look
at a still moist night
by the moon and us
moist and delicious

  1. Perfectly good and juicy word. There are times when only "moist" will do. I mean humid and damp have their moments, but don't quite cut it when you need the "m" word, Rob.

  2. Hey Rob, this is my second message re moist today. Would you believe...I just realized that the poem I posted this very morning includes the word "moist" It's actually a very old poem of mine, one of the few oldies which I haul out now and then, making sure they're still ok and relevant. What a synchronicity! I speak of the "warm, moist breath of foxes"

    1. I know. Yours is a lovely poem. The foxes go to town.

  3. Nice work! I don't have a problem with moist - gusset on the other hand... I can hardly bear to type it!
