have you
noticed
the whirlpool
how the stars
align
the
planets?
how all else seems a little, out?
we looked
at Saturn tonight
clear, bright, dependable Venus
on our
horizon
dipping below
fleeting
Mercury
Saturn and
Jupiter, the Moon
what we can
see with our naked eyes
is it one way
for this hemisphere?
(sorry –
this is the South)
and another
for the other
this is not
the poem I was seeking
how I love
you
our mother is dying

and a dying mother is a "soon-to-become" star, I'll look better the sky tonight, with my sincere sympathy

ReplyDeletea sad gem, Sarah
ReplyDeleteIt's intriguing, Sarah, how to describe that experience?
ReplyDeleteI don't know. That is what popped out very late at night. Obviously something that is preying on my mind, but in the moment of writing it I was thinking of Mother Earth. All connected. Or this phase of her very long existence. The mother Earth we know now. Thanks all for your kind responses.
