Anna Couani #156 text

I remember when painting felt mute
and writing became more attractive
being able to articulate
subsequent decades
flung into language
swimming in text
then painting became attractive again
like it had been originally
getting into the zone
like meditation
that excitement
just to make some marks
to feel those materials
those surfaces
and to escape
into the colours of music
forget text

  1. I felt the same with dancing at a younger age ... alas going back to the training studios for reahersals is only possible as a poet ... i'm growing old!!!

  2. Beautiful words! The poem reminds me of what a friend once pointed out to me: ' "A picture is worth a thousand words", but try saying that in pictures'. I am also reminded that, for all of my friends who are both artists and poets, it tends to go in phases, just as you describe; intense phases.
