Jill McKeowen #7 Gratitude

Gratitude

Morning hunger gapes but never wants
for a pot of tea, and oats sweetened
with honey, milk and cinnamon
while the cat leaps to a bed of sunlight
on the verandah, and I arrive
at this page, prepared
by breath and light and nourishment
to linger for an hour in daily practice
as necessary and reliable
as the garbage truck roaring by,
keeping things in order.

  2. I too have enjoyed this Jill. For me it has a sense of centeredness.
