rainbow
lorikeets come
seasons remember the tree
like ants come to visit and stay
it's snug here
it was this time last year
dew just as thick
and sun at such a slant
that laughter now high up
in branches, arcs of them went
not heard for a while
and something brighter
these birds, as of summer sent
to light the darkest day

I think this is the loveliest so far of this series of very lovely poems. (And I am very fond of rainbow lorikeets.)
