Chrysogonus' Translation #80 - from Gail Hennessy's "This Morning"

Pagi ini

Embus angin meraung
menghantam pepohonan

jendela mengerang
menahan terpaan

akankah semua bertahan

nyala lampu sepanjang lembah
belum lagi fajar

sepanjang garis beranda
teriakan telepon berbaris

bunyi bel berpagutan
dan lonceng membahana

gagak mengeluarkan tanya
dan jawab lewat lubang

hanya hujan menerpa

hari ini

Roar of wind breath
netted through trees

windows are groaning
against the onslaught

will anything hold

lights thread the valley
it is not yet dawn

along the veranda line
mobiles toss frantic

chimes intermingle
a clangour of bells

crows call question
and reply through the holes

of another rain soaked
day.
